EV charging at Roadchef

Roadchef has EV charging at a number of its sites, primarily through bp pulse and Pod Point. bp pulse rapid chargers (50 kW CCS and CHAdeMO at older units; 150 kW ultra-rapid CCS at newer hubs) are present at several Roadchef locations. Pod Point fast chargers cover some of the remaining sites with Type 2 AC charging. Coverage is not uniform across the network: some Roadchef sites have no EV provision. How Jornee ranks Roadchef on your route

Jornee lists Roadchef services ordered by the time each stop adds to your journey, not by how far they are from your departure point. A Roadchef site on a junction slip road ranks ahead of one that needs a short diversion, even if the second is nominally closer by distance. Filter by EV charging speed, food brand or HGV parking to narrow the list to sites that meet your needs. The app shows the detour penalty per stop so you can choose the one that fits your schedule.

Frequently asked questions

Which Roadchef site is best for EV charging?
bp pulse has installed ultra-rapid CCS chargers at selected Roadchef sites. Sites with 150 kW bp pulse units give the fastest charges in the Roadchef network; older 50 kW rapid units are at additional locations. The Jornee app shows the charge speed and connector type at each Roadchef site, so you can filter for the fastest option on your route.
Is HGV parking available at Roadchef?
Yes, at several sites. Strensham (M5), Sandbach (M6) and Norton Canes (M6 Toll) are among the Roadchef locations with established lorry parks. Bay count and any overnight charges vary by site. The Jornee app filters to Roadchef sites with HGV parking on your specific route, listed by added detour time.
Does Roadchef have Costa Coffee at all its sites?
Costa Coffee is the primary hot drinks brand at Roadchef sites and is present at the majority of their locations. Roadchef has a long-standing relationship with Costa, which distinguishes it from Welcome Break (also Costa) and Moto (which uses Starbucks and Costa at different sites). A small number of Roadchef sites may carry a different or additional coffee offer. The Jornee app lists the food and drink brands confirmed at each stop.
Does Roadchef have its own loyalty scheme?
Roadchef runs its own rewards programme through the Roadchef app; check the app for the current terms, as loyalty schemes and their benefits change over time. This is separate from Jornee, which is a route-planning tool and is not integrated with any operator's rewards programme.
