Fastned at a glance

Fastned was founded in 2012 and now operates 400+ ultra-rapid stations across nine European countries. Every site runs on renewable electricity, every charger has a CCS Combo connector, most sites charge at 300 kW, and the newest builds reach 400 kW. Fastned installs its own solar canopies over many sites and lists on the Amsterdam exchange, an independent operator tied to no carmaker or oil major.

Fastned prices ad-hoc per country, not one European rate. The Netherlands is €0.77/kWh, or €0.69 in the Fastned app; Germany is €0.69, France €0.61, Spain €0.59. A Gold membership at €11.99/month takes 30% off, dropping the Dutch rate to €0.54/kWh. The Jornee app shows the live price per stop.

In the Netherlands the standard rate is €0.77/kWh (€0.69 in-app), in Germany €0.69, in France €0.61, in Spain €0.59, and in the UK £0.79. Gold costs €11.99/month and pays for itself at roughly 50 kWh a month in the Netherlands. Roaming through Shell Recharge or Plugsurfing follows your provider's rate, which sits above the direct price. Prices as of July 2026.

Connectors and session speed

Every Fastned charger ships with a CCS Combo cable. Most sites run at 300 kW, and the newest reach 400 kW, up to 500 amps with 600 on the way. Fastned also carries a CHAdeMO cable at its stations for legacy Asian-market cars like the Nissan Leaf and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Type 2 AC is not offered: Fastned is DC-only by design, built for a fast top-up on the motorway rather than an overnight charge.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find Fastned chargers?
Fastned runs 400+ ultra-rapid stations across nine countries. Most chargers deliver 300 kW, with the newest builds at 400 kW, and every site has a CCS Combo connector. The Netherlands and Belgium have the densest coverage, with Germany, France and the UK filling in fast. The Jornee app shows the actual max-kW reading per station on the live map.
How much does charging at Fastned cost?
Fastned prices per country. In the Netherlands it is €0.77/kWh by card, or €0.69 in the Fastned app; Germany is €0.69, France €0.61, Spain €0.59 and the UK £0.79. A Gold membership at €11.99/month takes 30% off, so the Dutch rate drops to €0.54/kWh. Roaming via Shell Recharge or Plugsurfing follows your provider's rate. The Jornee app surfaces the live rate per stop.
Is the Fastned Gold membership worth it?
Gold costs €11.99/month and cuts 30% off the ad-hoc rate, dropping the Dutch price from €0.77 to €0.54/kWh. It breaks even at roughly 50 kWh a month in the Netherlands, less where the base rate is higher, so it pays off for regular motorway drivers and not for occasional ones. Gold covers up to three vehicles in a household and can be cancelled after 30 days.
Does Fastned support CHAdeMO?
Yes. Fastned carries a CHAdeMO cable rated to 50 kW at its stations alongside the CCS Combo cable, so an older Leaf gen 1 or 2 or an Outlander PHEV still charges. The Jornee app shows the connector mix per station so you can plan around it.
Is Fastned 100% renewable?
Yes, every Fastned station is powered by renewable electricity, backed by European Guarantees of Origin from wind and solar. The on-site solar canopies at some sites contribute the equivalent of one full station's daily energy in summer.
