A camping database vs a corridor-stop ranker

Park4Night and Jornee solve genuinely different problems. Park4Night is a crowdsourced European database of places to stop and sleep for campervans, motorhomes and vans. Its community maps wild spots, motorhome aires, paid campsites, picnic areas and service points with drinking water, grey-water disposal and electricity hookups. It is the go-to resource if you want to know where you can legally park your campervan outside Cologne tonight, or which aire on the A28 has a waste-dump point. Jornee does something different. It takes a motorway corridor you are driving, the M1 between London and Leeds or the A2 between Amsterdam and Eindhoven, and ranks every fuel, EV charge, food and rest stop by detour-minutes. For a truck driver who needs height and weight clearance, or an EV driver who wants the fastest charger with the shortest exit ramp, Jornee builds a ranked list before the journey starts. Park4Night does not rank by detour cost; Jornee does not list overnight camping spots or camper services. The audience overlap is small.

When Park4Night is the right tool

Park4Night earns its reputation for overnight and multi-night travel. If you are touring the Netherlands in a motorhome and want a wild spot near Texel, or a motorhome aire with water and waste disposal near Bruges, Park4Night has the community-verified data to help. Its photo library and reviews from other campervan and motorhome travellers give a realistic picture of a spot before you commit to driving there. Its coverage spans continental Europe at a depth no single company could build alone, because the data comes from hundreds of thousands of community contributions. For anyone planning an itinerary around where they will sleep, Park4Night is the right starting point.

When Jornee is the right tool

Jornee answers the planning question Park4Night does not: which service stop to take mid-journey, ranked by how much time each one costs. If you are driving the M6 from Birmingham to Glasgow and want every truck-friendly stop with HGV height clearance, ranked by detour-minutes, Jornee gives you that list before you leave. EV drivers on the M25 get a ranked list too: which rapid charger nearest the motorway has the shortest exit ramp and whether it supports their connector type. The same corridor-stop logic works on the A10 between Amsterdam and Den Haag or the A3 between Cologne and Frankfurt. Jornee covers the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and France. It does not list wild-camping spots, motorhome aires or camper-service points.

Frequently asked questions

Can Park4Night help me find fuel or EV charge stops mid-motorway?
Park4Night includes some EV charging locations, since members can add any useful stop, but it does not rank stops by detour cost or filter by vehicle profile. If you need to know which charger on the M1 adds the fewest minutes to your journey, that is a search Jornee is built to answer. Park4Night is better suited to finding where to park overnight than to planning a refuel or recharge stop on a timed motorway run.
Does Jornee list motorhome aires or camper service points?
No. Jornee focuses on motorway-corridor stops for fuel, EV charging, food and rest. It does not include motorhome aires, wild-camping spots, grey-water disposal points or electricity hookups for campervans. For those categories, Park4Night is the right tool. The two apps serve different journeys: one for planning service stops on a timed motorway run, the other for multi-night touring.
