Costa Coffee is the dominant coffee brand at UK motorway services. It has a particularly strong presence at Roadchef, where it is the preferred coffee partner, and appears at Welcome Break, Moto and Extra sites as well. Some named locations: Strensham Services on the M5 (Roadchef) has a full Costa and sits at junctions 8 and 9 on the southbound and northbound sides, making it one of the more complete stops on the M5 corridor. Sandbach Services on the M6 (Roadchef, junctions 17 and 18) has Costa and is a standard stop between the Midlands and the northwest, serving both truck drivers and car travellers. Beaconsfield Services on the M40 (Extra, junction 2) has Costa and sits just north of the M25 junction, catching traffic from both motorways. Costa Coffee drive-thru at motorway services
Costa drive-thru is a growing format at UK motorway services. Rather than parking and going inside, a drive-thru lane allows you to order and collect from the car, which suits drivers who want to minimise stop time or prefer not to leave the vehicle. Not all service area Costa outlets have a drive-thru; many are conventional indoor cafes inside the main services building. Where a drive-thru is present it is typically in a separate building or pod adjacent to the fuel forecourt. EV charging and Costa Coffee at the same stop
Several service areas combine Costa Coffee with rapid EV charging, making it straightforward to charge while picking up a coffee and food on a longer journey. Roadchef sites are served by an expanding EV charging network operated with GRIDSERVE, including high-power Electric Super Hubs at several locations. Strensham on the M5 and Sandbach on the M6 are examples of Roadchef sites where Costa and ultra-rapid GRIDSERVE charging are available at the same stop. Beaconsfield on the M40 (Extra) similarly combines Costa and EV charging provision. Confirming current charger speed and availability via Zap-Map or the relevant network's own map is advisable, as installations are updated over time.
