Milence hubs: public charging built for trucks
Milence is the joint venture of Daimler Truck, TRATON Group and Volvo Group, and calls itself the largest public HGV-only charging network in Europe. It runs 37 hubs across nine countries, from the Netherlands and Belgium to its first Danish site at Padborg, with CCS charging up to 400 kW and megawatt charging arriving corridor by corridor. This page covers the network today, the charging tech, what a hub offers a driver on a 45-minute break, and how Jornee places Milence hubs on your route by added detour time.

Milence at a glance
Milence was set up by Daimler Truck, TRATON Group and Volvo Group to build the public charging that electric long-haul needs before it can scale. The network stands at 37 hubs across nine European countries, and the build-out is funded to continue: under the EU's AFIF programme, Milence plans 284 megawatt-capable chargers at 71 sites in 10 member states by 2027. Hubs are truck-only, with bays sized for a full combination rather than a squeezed-in car stall.

CCS at 400 kW, MCS on the first corridor
Every hub charges via CCS at up to 400 kW per point, enough to put usable range into an e-truck during the mandatory 45-minute break. The bigger step is MCS, the megawatt charging standard: Milence has megawatt chargers live at sites in the Netherlands and Belgium, and describes Antwerp to Stockholm as the first corridor equipped with megawatt charging. For dispatchers, the practical read is that CCS covers today's fleet while MCS-ready sites decide which corridors electrify first.
| Standard | Status |
|---|---|
| CCS | Up to 400 kW, all hubs |
| MCS (megawatt) | Live at NL and BE sites |

What a hub offers during the break
Most hubs carry restrooms, showers, a driver lounge and vending machines, which turns the charge stop into the legal break rather than a second stop. Payment runs through the usual eMSP charge cards, a payment terminal on site, or Milence's own card, and a bay booking tool is being introduced so a driver is not gambling on a free stall at arrival. Pricing is set per site rather than as one network tariff, so check the rate for the specific hub on your route before you charge.

Where Milence sits on your corridor
Milence builds where electric long-haul actually runs: the Benelux logistics belt, the German motorway network, and northwards along the Antwerp to Stockholm corridor. With 37 hubs and counting, route planning still decides whether an e-truck day works, and a hub 4 minutes off the motorway beats a nominally closer one across town. Jornee ranks Milence hubs by added detour time on your active route and shows the surrounding services, so the charge stop and the rest break land in the same place.
