EV charging on the M3
Electric vehicle charging on the M3 is concentrated at Fleet services (Junctions 4A-5), which hosts Tesla rapid charging up to 150 kW alongside its regular fuel and food facilities. Winchester services (Junctions 9-10) covers fuel, food and toilets but has more limited charging provision, so Fleet is the more reliable stop if your battery is running low. Charging capacity on the M3 is more limited than larger motorways like the M25, so plan ahead and allow time for a meal whilst your vehicle charges.

HGV parking on the M3
The M3 is not a primary freight corridor, so HGV facilities are more limited than on routes like the M25 or M6. Fleet services (Junctions 4A-5) has some dedicated lorry parking bays and facilities for heavy goods vehicle drivers, including overnight parking options. If you require more extensive HGV facilities, the M27 at the southern end near Southampton offers better provision. Plan longer journeys on this route with overnight stops in mind, and use the Jornee app to locate HGV-friendly parking and amenities ahead of time.

For motorcyclists on the M3
Motorcyclists will find the M3 a straightforward route with good spacing between key stops. Fleet services (Junctions 4A-5) and Winchester services (Junctions 9-10) both offer fuel, hot food and indoor facilities to shelter from the weather, with Fleet open 24/7. The roughly 30-mile distance between these two points is comfortable for most riders. Both sites welcome motorcycles and provide secure parking. Whether you're heading towards Farnborough's tech sector or Winchester's historic city centre, you'll find refreshment without excessive detours from the main carriageway.
