Every stop on the M20
The M20 runs 56 miles from the M25 near Swanley south through Maidstone, Ashford, and Folkestone to the Channel Tunnel terminal. This is the UK's primary international corridor, carrying holiday drivers, business travellers, and haulage traffic heading for France and beyond. Two major Welcome Break service areas provide facilities at both Maidstone (junctions 7-8) and Folkestone (junctions 11-12), open 24/7 with food, fuel, toilets, and parking. Both sites offer accessible facilities and dedicated space for motorcyclists, caravanners, and HGV drivers.

EV charging on the M20
Both Maidstone and Folkestone service areas offer rapid EV charging, making them useful mid-journey stops for electric vehicle drivers heading to France via the Channel Tunnel. Charger networks and speeds change as sites upgrade their bays, so check current provision and availability in Jornee before you set off. Use the app to plan your M20 stop by detour time, so you reach the right service at the right battery level.

HGV parking on the M20
The M20 carries the bulk of international haulage traffic bound for Dover's roll-on roll-off ferry port and the Channel Tunnel, making it one of the busiest HGV corridors in the UK. Maidstone services provides dedicated HGV bays, parking, and a fuel station. Since the Sevington lorry park opened permanently near junction 10a, disruption at the Channel Tunnel or Dover port is managed through Operation Brock rather than the old M20 contraflow. If you're driving this route for work, check National Highways or Kent Police for the current traffic management status before you set off.

For motorcyclists on the M20
Maidstone and Folkestone service areas welcome motorcycles and offer sheltered bike parking, fuelling points, and dedicated rider facilities. Folkestone is a particularly popular final stop before boarding the Channel Tunnel, with a relaxed atmosphere and good facilities for international riders. Both services are open 24/7, so you can refuel or grab refreshments at any time, day or night. Many bikers heading to Europe use the M20 as their primary route, and both facilities cater well to the motorcycle community with accessible parking and efficient turnover.
