HGV parking on the M4

The M4 is a busy freight route to the ports of South Wales, and most of its service areas take HGVs. Leigh Delamere (J17 to 18) is the best-known lorry stop, and Membury, Cardiff Gate and Pont Abraham run 24 hours. There is no standalone truckstop, so the service areas are the overnight option. The M4 carries heavy freight to the docks and ports of South Wales, so it has HGV parking at most service areas, though no dedicated truckstop. Leigh Delamere (J17 to 18) near Chippenham is the best-known lorry stop, with plenty of bays. Membury (J14 to 15), Cardiff Gate (J30) and Pont Abraham (J49) are open 24 hours, useful for a legal tacho break rather than hunting a lay-by.
