Fastned pricing — kWh, subscriptions, roaming

Fastned's headline rate is €0.59/kWh for ad-hoc payment by app or contactless card. Gold member subscription drops the rate to €0.39/kWh for a fixed €11.99/month — break-even at about 30 kWh/month. Roaming via Shell Recharge, Plugsurfing, or other MSPs is supported but the rate is set by your MSP, typically €0.69–0.79/kWh.

Connectors and session speed

Every Fastned charger ships with a CCS Combo cable rated to 350 kW. A handful of older sites also carry a CHAdeMO cable for legacy Asian-market vehicles (Nissan Leaf gen 1/2, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV) — these are being phased out as the install base shrinks. Type 2 AC is not offered; Fastned is DC-only by design.

Where Fastned sits on the corridor

On the Dutch motorway grid, Fastned anchors the A2 (Liempde, Maarheeze), the A4 (the spine to Belgium), and most of the A1, A12, and A28. In Belgium the densest cluster runs along the E40 (Drongen, Heverlee) and the E411. In Germany Fastned is heaviest along the A1, A3, and A7 corridors. Where can I find Fastned 350 kW chargers?
Every Fastned site in the Netherlands and Belgium has at least one 350 kW CCS Combo charger. In Germany and the UK the majority are 300 kW with newer builds at 350 kW. The Jornee app shows the actual max-kW reading per station on the live map.
How much does charging at Fastned cost?
Ad-hoc €0.59/kWh by app or contactless card. Gold subscription €0.39/kWh for €11.99/month — break-even at about 30 kWh/month. Roaming via Shell Recharge or Plugsurfing follows your MSP's rate, typically €0.69–0.79/kWh. The Jornee app surfaces the live rate per stop.
Does Fastned support CHAdeMO?
Around 15% of older Fastned sites carry a CHAdeMO cable rated to 50 kW. Newer builds are CCS-only. The Jornee app shows the connector mix per station so you can plan around it if you're driving a Leaf gen 1/2 or an Outlander PHEV.
Is Fastned 100% renewable?
Yes — every Fastned station is powered by renewable electricity sourced via Dutch wind and solar PPAs since 2013. The on-site solar canopies at some sites contribute the equivalent of one full station's daily energy in summer.
Does the Gold subscription apply to roaming via Shell Recharge or Plugsurfing?
No — Gold pricing only applies when you charge through the Fastned app or contactless card directly. Using a Shell Recharge or Plugsurfing card at a Fastned site falls under the roaming rate, regardless of any Fastned subscription you hold.
